January Sales Tips & Advice
TIPS FOR GETTING THE BEST FROM THE JANUARY SALES
- If your primary intention from the January Sales is to buy all your birthday and Christmas presents for 2010, then make sure you have a full list of recipients to hand and cross them off as you buy their gifts in the sales.
- some of the better bargains can be found in card shops etc - Christmas cards, wrapping paper, christmas tree ornaments and crackers, gift bags and tags are usually reduced.
- Have a large box, or plastic carton, ready - the bottom of your wardrobe or a high shelf - and store them carefully, in datal order for easy access, although I personally wouldn't wrap them, until nearer the date - I'd probably forget which bargain I'd bought them.
- If buying for children, do remember that this year's must have toy, will definitely be next year's poor cousin - kids tastes change dramatically throughout the year, especially when it comes to clothes.
- if your looking for furniture, carpets etc make sure you have the correct measurements and take a tape measure with you when shopping - don't try to guess the size.
- if the thought 'it might come in handy' crosses your mind when faced with an absolute bargain - then, it probably won't and you will have wasted your money.
- if the thought 'I'll slim into it, or 'it will fit me on holiday' also crosses your mind - then it probably won't and will end up in some charity bag, with the label attached.
- remember - a bargain isn't a bargain if it lays unloved and unused in a drawer or your wardrobe until next year's January sale.
CONSUMER RIGHTS IN THE JANUARY & WINTER SALES
ALWAYS KEEP YOUR RECEIPT

If the product is faulty it must be clearly stated.
You don't have an automatic right to return goods if you've changed your mind, or it doesn't fit - so ensure you have the correct measurements.
