|
Make A Treasure Chest
You will need an empty shoe box for your treasure chest and how you decorate it depends on the supplies you have ... you can use bits and bobs from your craft box ... no need to buy new thing.
Cover the box with brown paper or draw lines to make a wooden slat effect, cut out a lock and cover it with silver foil.
Use your treasure chest to keep your precious things safe. |
|
Treasure Hunt
You will need :
A sheet of paper (at least A4)
Crayons
Chocolate coins
1) Hide chocolate coins around the house and if it's a nice day out in the garden too.
2) Draw a map for your kids showing them where to look for the coins ... how specific you are depends on the age of your children ... make the older ones work a bit harder for their chocolate!
3) Once the kids have finished their treasure hunt they can hide coins for you to find and draw you a map too.
If you prefer you can hide coin coloured discs and provide "treasure" at the end of the hunt. |
|
Pirate Ship Buns ... yum yum me hearties!
You will need :
Long finger buns
Cheese slices
Cocktail sticks
Margarine
Sandwich topping of your choice
1) Slice the buns length ways to produce two boat shapes.
2) Spread the bun with margarine.
3) Add the sandwich topping ... try tuna and mayo, ham or chopped egg.
4) Thread the cocktail stick through the cheese slice to make a sail and stick it in to the bread boat base.
5) Add little extra for older kids like cherry tomato cannon balls and fish shaped crisp snacks.
Be aware : small children should not be left alone with cocktail sticks as they are a choking hazard. |
